Litecoin Summit 2025: Greatest Hits
The fifth Litecoin Summit went off without a hitch on 29 & 30 May, 2025. With true Las Vegas flair, the Summit delivered two packed days of innovation, institutional insight, and unmistakable community spirit. If you missed it, we’ve listed some of the highlights below - but you can catch all 34 sessions are live on the Litecoin Foundation’s YouTube.
Charlie Lee & “The People’s Currency”
Per tradition, Charlie Lee opened the Litecoin Summit - this year being the most candid. True to form, Lee emphasized that Litecoin was designed to be “the people’s currency” - no pre-mine, no hype, no founder stash. Money that works, for all.
Charlie also re-iterated the importance of community and collaboration, proudly stating “Litecoin has one of the best, most non-toxic communities in crypto.” In that vein, you can listen to the address in English, Spanish, French, German, Hindi and Italian. Enjoy!
Launches & Announcements
One of the most anticipated Litecoin launches was Nexus Wallet. Years in the making, Litecoin lead dev, Loshan, introduced the brand new non-custodial wallet, designed with speed, privacy & real-world utility in-mind.
A handful of Nexus’ incredible features:
- Opt-in confidential transactions
- Ability to spend LTC at 40,000+ retailers via Flexa.
In the coming months, Nexus is also looking to add Lightning Network support, for instant, low-fee payments; and atomic swaps from LTC ↔ BTC.

The LitVM team were next up, announcing their new tech stack bringing smart contracts and more to Litecoin. Developed with BitcoinOS and Polygon’s Chain Development Kit, LitVM allows Ethereum-style smart contracts on Litecoin’s secure UTXO foundation.

Meanwhile, Litecoin Computer co-founders Clemens Ley and María Laura Tardivo, presented a new and novel way to build programmable vaults and NFT-like assets using Litecoin’s existing architecture. Another grassroots project with big news for the Litecion ecosystem was BasicSwapDEX. Founder, Dr Kapil Amarasinghe, demonstrated how the decentralised exchange can facilitate atomic swaps for cross-chain, peer-to-peer trading. No wrapped tokens. No intermediaries. Never the type to disappoint, Cake Wallet took to the stage to demo new features and support for opt-in confidential Litecoin transactions. Once again making financial privacy easy for the mainstream.
Institutional Momentum & ETFs
A dedicated ETF panel, moderated by Bloomberg’s James Seyffart, included speakers from Grayscale, CoinShares, and Canary Capital. And it’s fair to say that confidence is at an all-time high when it comes to U.S.-based Litecoin spot ETF approvals.

Coinbase’s John D’Agostino also made the case for greater institutional adoption during a fireside with Richard Jackson, Deputy Attorney General for Cybersecurity, Technology, and Digital Assets.

These weren’t the only highlights of 2025’s Summit. As part of their two-day experience - which only cost $84 - attendees were spoiled with other exclusive panels, workshops, community meetups, and even a dedicated women-in-blockchain luncheon. Not to mention receiving limited edition Litecoin trading cards, free Litecoin airdrops, merch and a chance at winning a brand new mining rig. Oh yeah, there was also a poolside after party where the drinks flowed like the salmon of Capistrano.
